The article says that Lips had a line in "The Great Muppet Caper" before the "Night Life" number, but in the close captionings available for "The Great Muppet Caper", it says that Floyd said that line. What should we do about that? --TenCents (talk) 21:24, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
- The issue of identifying a puppeteer by the voice has been a problem. It sounds like Jerry Nelson and Steve Whitmire. TenCents 16:04, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
Though it's a mistakable issue, it's clearly Whitmire's voice, hence Lips says the line (although the voice here is different from the one used in Barnyard Boogie). With Whitmire's versatility in voices, he can do a near-perfect Floyd, as proven with his minstrel character Murray from Fraggle Rock. Here's a comparision: Murray (forward to 4:46), Lips (from "Night Life.") -- Jon (talk) 01:24, February 24, 2011 (UTC) 21:09, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
- Definitely Whitmire just before "Night Life". It even sounds more like Rizzo, than like Floyd. Caudex Rax 17:01, February 27, 2011 (UTC)
I have read on a website somewhere that Lips was designed to have his hands permaneantly attached to his trumpet. Does anybody know if there is an official source regarding this fact (maybe Of Muppets and Men)? And if this is true, does anybody know if multiple puppets were built or if perhaps Lips had removable arms so he could change outfits (I have seen him wear five different shirts, and I have seen him without his trumpet)? --Minor muppetz 23:48, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
- I think that was just based on a viewer's observation. Garrettk41 18:03, December 26, 2009 (UTC)
