Off the show

I recently noticed that Linda Bove is no longer in the Sesame Street cast credits, so I looked around, and her entry on IMDb says she's been off the show since 2003. I know IMDb is not the world's most super-accurate resource, so if anyone has another, more reliable source, by all means edit. -- Ryan (talk) 19:15, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

No, it's definitely accurate. She hasn't been in the credits since then, though I noticed a March Sesame Street Magazine included her. I just questioned some of the "was" changes, which is related to a larger issue, since a) Linda the character is still presumably deaf and a librarian and b) we use is even on pages like Forgetful Jones, whose last known appearance is a cameo in Elmo Saves Christmas. I just wasn't sure if she had actually left in, say, 2002 or 2004. As for "is" vs. "was," I don't mind the reverts, but there's much inconsistency with past/present tenses throughout the Wiki, so that issue probably does deserve a more in-depth discussion. -- Ryan (talk) 19:25, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
She wasn't in the credits of The Street We Live On, for a start, and I believe one of the "Elmo's World" segments she appeared in was 2002. A lot of our dates are best approximations. I switched some of the IMDb dates for the two Mr. Handford actors since it was contradicted by press announcements and I found a better source, a book tracing TV recasts, which gave month and year. As for tense, definitely it deserves some discussion. In this case, a little inconsistency made sense to me in the article. The deafness and librarian issues don't change, but she's presumably no longer the owner of Barkley since Barkley still appears occasionally and she doesn't. The Snuffleupatale Theatre Sketch

I know that there are a number of deaf people who can read lips and I know Marlee Matlin is one of them but I didn't know Linda Bove was one of them too until she told Snuffy in the Snuffleupatale Theatre sketch.
