Kermit's fleece changed during the Muppet Show?

Didn't Kermit look a bit different during the first season of "The Muppet Show"? I remember he was brighter green and had a single collar in about 1976-77, and was made out of a fuzzier kind of fleece (like Bert in 1973), but he changed to a darker green and his fleece texture changed for at least "The Muppet Movie" in 1979. When exactly did this happen? During which season of "The Muppet Show"?

Wasn't his voice also deeper during the early seasons of "The Muppet Show", also?

No appearances in 1970-71?

I noticed one Kermit puppet was shown for 1970-1976. I thought I read that Kermit the Frog did not appear on Sesame Street in any new segments from 1970-71 (season 2). Shouldn't the date be 1971 next to the screen capture from the "long and short" Sesame Street segment (the last "double collar" Kermit puppet)?

Although there were no new Kermit sketches taped Sesame Street's 2nd season, my guess is that in 1970 this particular puppet may have been used for other productions outside the Street. One such clue of for this possibility was the Kermit used in the What Kind of Fool Am I? song on The Ed Sullivan Show on May 31, 1970. Perhaps someone else here has some additional evidence. --Dave Splurge 01:08, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, he was off the show *precisely* because Henson was still using the character for variety and talk shows, commercials, and other appearances (and some of the later first season stuff was of course taped in 1970). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 01:44, July 11, 2010 (UTC)
