This article mentiosn that this is planned for a fall 2007 release. It is now 2008, so has this already been released, and none of us have removed the "in development" tag and changed all mentions of it coming soon, or was the 2007 date a mistake, and it's meant for 2008, or has it possibly been cancled, and the category just didn't change from "In Development" to "Unfinished Merchandise"? --Minor muppetz 04:15, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- The article states what the company stated. It's definitely not unfinished, but it also isn't out yet. There's some general confusion, which isn't helped by the fact that NECA already released one figure, and the existence of the Talking Jareth Action Figure. Online retailer Entertainment Earth lists it as "estimated to arrive February 2008," with the usual "subject to change" caveat, and right now, there's an e-bay auction for the item, listing it as a "presell.". Anyway, I changed the text to past tense and emphasized that the 2007 date was just announced, not when it come out. From the looks of things, the item *should* be in general release in the next few weeks or so. So basically, a wait and see approach is needed. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 05:21, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- Just a status update, Entertainment Earth and other online retailers still list this as coming, but have changed the date to June 2008. That's not encouraging but not proof that it's been shelved either. Copies are still selling on e-bay, but as "pre-sells" with a note that they are not responsible for manufacturer's delays. I'll keep an eye on this, but since (unlike some projects) we do have actual photo evidence and so on (plus, the 2008 Comic-Con is coming up, which is often a place NECA and the like choose to unveil updates or final information), it's worthwhile to keep it "in development" for awhile longer. Edit: NECA now has a section on their website for set (though I'm having trouble loading it myself), which does include a June date, so it looks like a series of not uncommon shipping delays or they're saving it to launch just before Comic-Con (which is in July). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 22:57, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
