This insert was cut?[]
What exactly was cut from the "40 years" DVD? That version is (presumably) on YouTube and it's the same length as the uncut-but-dubbed Shalom Sesame verson.
- There's a second or two at the beginning of the "40 Years" version that isn't included, but is part of the Shalom Sesame version. It's a meaningless edit and it should be removed. - Oscarfan (talk) 16:38, October 4, 2013 (UTC)
1969 version with Ernie[]
Does this song sort of give out a little hint that the nameless monster who would later be Cookie Monster has an obsession with cookies? I'm just wondering, since he mentions cookies. Wattamack4 00:24, January 18, 2010 (UTC)Alex
- He's not addressed by name in the sketch but we have no real reason to assume he's not already Cookie Monster or that this is somehow the first use of it. It's already noted on The Mr. and Mrs. Game how the cookie obsession idea originated, and it was then applied to a pre-existing puppet, and it fits the time frame (we don't have a "first known" for that game show sketch but we know it was earlier than our eka). So don't worry about it or feel that anything has to be noted here to suggest some kind of progression. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 00:40, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, alright. Well thanks for the answer. Wattamack4 01:03, January 18, 2010 (UTC)Alex
Two Versions?[]
There seems to be a conflict about how many versions of the song were performed on Sesame Street. Danny's archive information says that the Anything Muppets performed it during Season 1; however, the Ernie and Cookie Monster version is also from that year and not from Season 2 (as evident by Ernie's shirt). So, were there two versions from the first season, or did the archive give misleading information? Or did one version not end up being aired later? -- MuppetDude 15:41, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
