Posting the full text of the poem seems like a grey-area to me. It's like lyrics (just to a song with out music.) Is having the poem's text posted here okay? -- Brad D. (talk) 23:38, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I mentioned it at Category talk:Poems. I'm not comfortable with it either. Plus there's the fact that the full text was included in Sesame Street Unpaved. True, it's no longer being published, but there's enough bargain table copies in circulation plus library resources that there's no justification for including it for research purposes. Even for public domain texts, like Jabberwocky, we only include off-site links, mainly because this is still a Muppet Wiki, and full text of non-Muppet poems or literary works doesn't really fit our mission. Add to that the apparent fact, indicated by the Old School promotional materials, that the skit will be on the DVD set in exactly two weeks, and it violates Muppet Wiki transcripts policy. Plus there's tons of POV in this, apparently transferred whole cloth from the Wikipedia article on the subject. I'm in favor of yanking the transcript, and since the DVDs will be out very shortly, adding an Attention tag. It could still be a useful article, especially once folks are able to see the recitation in context and offer summary of it, as well as add an image. - Andrew Leal (talk) 02:11, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- I vote for a link, or a short excerpt or both, but not the whole text. -- Wendy (talk) 17:58, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
