Well It's not Lefty...
It seems odd that there would be two salesman segments in the same episode involving Ernie (even if those segments featured different salesmen). The archive list the guide comes from lists the segment as "Ernie and Scales" (as did Episode 0291), which could be this one. Do the guides differentiate the two "scale" segments in any way? -- MuppetDude 18:56, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- I think it might be the other one. I noticed that other sketches with Lefty are listed as "Ernie and the (insert object here) Salesman". Many of them are also listed that way in the "First Season Show Content" pages, though some aren't ("Ernie and Salesman U/V Bit", for example). Still, the candy salesman might not even be Lefty. It could be a clerk at a candy shop, or a boy scout, or something. But I have a feeling that the scales skit is the one in the link provided. --Minor muppetz 18:40, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Now that I think about it, it might be better to just remove the description of a scale sketch on this page, until we know better (if that day ever comes). --Minor muppetz 01:28, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- In case one should check the archives, here are the shows that mention a sketch involving Ernie and a scale, whether its with the Salesman or Cookie Monster: 264, 291, 837, 855. -- MuppetDude 19:12, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- the episode 0291 does confirm that it is the ernie & cookie segment--it has the transcript. in that episode, the scene is labeled "Ernie's Scales" in the guide for episode 0264, there is only a title "Ernie's Scales" in the box at the front of the episode (see sample episode on NHK page). from what i've seen the episode guides label the same sketches the same ways, but there's no explicit confirmation. make of that what you will. - Kate 22:31, March 20, 2010 (UTC)
