The main paragraph listing Danny Devito's Sesame Street appearances is uncited. It mentions a segment (or, more likely, an epsiode) where Devito plays Vincent Van Grouch, the curator of a museum of trash. There's a segment mentioned where Oscar tells Danny Devito how to get a bus to stop. And there's a sketch where Oscar and Devito (as Vincent Van Grouch) laugh at each other. Now, the laughing sketch is included at sesamestreet.org, and I think I saw it listed on an episode page at the wiki, but the other two could use a bit of sourcing.
The special Sesame Street's All-Star 25th Birthday: Stars and Streets Forever includes a clip of Vincent Van Grouch holding Oscar's trash can and saying that eh can be an attraction at his art exhibet. So that's pretty much proof that it exists, but I think we need a source for the fact that the character was named Vincent Van Grouch. And that leaves for the bus sketch. This page is the only place on the wiki where I've seen it mentioned. Does anybody know any details on these two segments? --Minor muppetz 00:15, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- As far as Vincent Van Grouch goes, I added an eka for the segment, from Episode 3007, with specifics supplied by Guillermo from his own copy.
- However, looking at the history, the bus claim was added by a user with a history of adding unsourced info, much of it seemingly based on memory. So I've taken that out until someone can reliably source it. Good catch, Michael. Here's the passage, for posterity: "He also appeared in a skit with Oscar the Grouch and Bruno the Trashman at a "Grouch Bus Stop" where he was told by Oscar in order to get the bus driver to stop, he has to yell at the bus driver and shout something rude and insulting." -- Andrew Leal (talk) 00:27, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- I asked that user a question about them on this talk page, but afterwards I checked his contributions, and saw that the user hasn't made any Muppet Wiki edits since May, so we may not get an answer for awhile. --Minor muppetz 02:06, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I found the clip in question at youtube: (YouTube)
