Talk:Colander Stenchman

Back to page

This raises an interesting question. What do we do when a character name is misspelled in official sources? The closing credits list him as "Collander Stenchman." Do we roll with it, or just include a note about the misspelling in the text, as has been done with the Mr. Barry Wolfe discrepancy? Andrew Leal (talk) 15:34, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Oh, was it misspelled in the credits? My bad. I thought it was just a wiki misspelling. Sorry about the move. If we move it back, we should probably include a note so spelling freaks like me won't move it back. -- Peter (talk) 17:06, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
We should include a note either way, yeah. I'm not committed to the misspelling, but it does come from an official source. So it could be argued that it was intentional as a character name or, more likely, the end title firm made a goof. I just thought it might be worth a little bit of discussion should it happen again. I know I myself tend to use credit names as is unless distinctly contradicted by dialogue or common sense. Andrew Leal (talk) 18:11, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
The storybook just calls them "two Stenchmen", so that's no help. My preference is that we spell it correctly, with a note acknowledging the misspelling in the credits. -- Danny (talk) 18:18, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
