Academy responseEdit

I remember when people wanted the Academy to nominate Miss Piggy for an Oscar for The Muppet Movie, and I also remember that the Academy actually had to clarify their rules that "actress" was defined as a human being, thereby eliminating pigs. (There was also the issue that she was being performed by a man.) Does anybody else remember this, and where would we go to verify that?
