I just noticed something. It might be obvious already, but listen closely to the "ding-ding-donga-dinga-dinga ding dongs" of the song. Sound familiar, do they not? -- Jon (talk) 21:05, November 21, 2010 (UTC)
Earliest known appearance?
This is the first time I've posted anything here, so I'm sorry if I am not doing it correctly. I was browsing the site and found this article, remembering a song I loved during my years watching Sesame Street. However, the EKA for this song (a 1992 episode) seems off to me... I'm 25 and watched the show throughout the early- and mid-80s, and I definitely saw this song played at least occasionally. My youngest brother was two in 1992 and while there is a chance I could be remembering the song from his years with Sesame Street, that seems very unlikely. He hardly ever watched the show, and if he did I would have been in school. The only problem is I have no proof of this whatsoever, and I know personal accounts are not worth anything. Anyone know how to get actual evidence that this song was played years earlier than 1992?Februarystar27 17:26, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for posting! You did it just right. :)
- You're right, the episode that's cited here isn't the first appearance of the song, and probably isn't even close. But right now, that's the earliest appearance that we have information on. We're constantly working to add more episode guide pages -- and as we add more episodes, we can update the EKAs. We'll find an earlier appearance of this song at some point, but it's hard to say when -- it's hard to find people who have copies of early-80s episodes, since there weren't a lot of VCRs around. But we'll get 'em someday!
