Analysis

I don't mean to step on anybody's good time, but to me, the "Analysis" section doesn't sound neutral. It sounds like we don't really believe what the Workshop is telling us. Is anybody else reading it this way? -- Ken (talk) 18:44, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

My original intent was to point out that the two arguments "Ernie and Bert are puppets (and therefore could not be gay)" and "Ernie and Bert don't exist below the waist" are technically wrong, but I agree that the the section has started to move a little in the direction of an editorial.— Tom (talk) 21:45, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

More than that, I think they get away from the original question, going into toys and that "Ernie and Bert could, in principle, represent a gay couple." That's not really the point of these rumor pages, and the "puppets, not humans" is valid for Sesame Workshop (since despite existence of parents and that one Elmo's World: Birthdays, you also have Elmo admitting he's made of foam in guest appearances and The Muppet Show isn't applicable in this case). It basically just confuses the point of the page and instead becomes a "Muppets are more than puppets but have complex lives of their own" argument, which is fine and would make a great essay in a Kermit Culture-like book. Formatting problems

They look perfectly aligned to me under various screen resolutions. What resolution are you at and browser are you using? Can you post a screenshot? —Scott (talk) 01:40, November 1, 2009 (UTC)

My screen resolution is 1680 x 1050, and the second quote looks indented, as if it has a ":" at the beginning of the line of code. The indentation persists on Chrome and Explorer, but, interestingly, if I change my screen resolution, the text appears perfectly aligned. As they say, hi ho, must be a peculiarity of my home machine. I'll check the page at work on Monday. No need to leave this as an active talk page.— Tom (talk) 02:35, November 1, 2009 (UTC)

FYI, this article is the #2 result on Google right now for Ernie and Bert and Bert and Ernie. The #1 result is the Bert and Ernie article on Wikipedia which is about the duo and their history. real skits?

The 1994 quote from Reverend Chambers is interesting to me. It would be fun to link his statements to the sketches he speaks of, but I can't find them on the wiki. My best guess for tending plants (so gay!) is Little Plant, but that's just Ernie. No idea what the sewing sketch could be.
