originally titled "The Arab"
This is another character that I put in Kermitage sometime, and I think it needs a bit of correcting and possibly deleting. The character I was referring to is all covered with a black burqa - she (?) shows up in crowd scenes in these episodes. When I made that list, I wasn't quite aware of the existance of the burqa and where it came from... -- Jog 21:10, 1 June 2006 (UTC) Jog
- The one pictured currently at Kermitage.com (which is probably where the wiki contributor took the information) is wearing a thobe which is worn by men in the Arabian regions. A burqa is worn by Islamic women, which sounds more like the character you've described on this talk page. -- Scott (talk) 18:39, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- That picture shows the wrong guy; Mike did the screengrabs, and I think he got confused about which character I meant. The one I meant looks like a piece of black fabric with two shiny eyes peeking out. -- Jog 17:39, 3 June 2006 (UTC) Jog
- The article has the episode numbers... She makes a cameo appearance in "All Alone" in the Loretta Lynn episode, is seen briefly in the finale of the Helen Reddy episode (the best one for a screenshot, I think), and I believe she's in "It's A Small World" in the Spike Milligan episode. Also, I'm pondering what kind of name we should give this article, since "The Arab" does not exactly describe her. Muppet in Burqa? Burqa Muppet? -- Jog 07:39, 4 June 2006 (UTC) Jog
- Oh, nice move! I guess Whirling Dervish fit there too: after all, the entire episode is centered around "Arabian Nights" stories. As for the Turkish Muppets in Pachalafacha... Don't know about those, but my knowledge of the culture is not exactly the best. -- Jog 16:19, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
