We had a few tidbits on the article for a while that have gone uncited. I believe we discussed some of them previously and figured that it came from some press articles introducing Abby, but were never able to track them down.

• she moves to Sesame Street from Fairyside, Queens (a pun on the Sunnyside section)
• the daughter of Cinderella's Fairy Godmother
• Her magic word, allerednic, is Cinderella backwards.

If anyone can find the source for those statements that would be great. I don't believe any of them have been confirmed on the show, but correct me if I'm wrong. —Scott (talk) 03:42, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Nate, are you sure that Abby (and/or any additional Muppets) appeared on The Today Show on December 25, 2007, as was initially announced? I scanned the entire show and didn't come across a single Muppet. If yes, let's confirm the info on 2007 and The Today Show as well. Cinderella

Peter added it back in October, 2006, but I have no idea where it came from. I certainly can't remember it being mentioned in the Abby episodes I've seen, but I might have missed it. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 02:28, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

That one's sourced, actually, just not clearly (I think it was reworked in the history from an early version which just copied mostly from articles and such). It was mentioned in one or more of the articles about the character before she appeared, along with the "dragonfly" thing (which I'm also not sure ever made it into the show). I think it's somewhere in the mess of links at the end, but I don't have time or energy to go through them right now. However, if anything can be sourced through them *but* has yet to be mentioned anywhere on the show, I think it merits a seperate note at the end, as "early development" or "publicity bio" or something. The Cinderella's fairy godmother thing doesn't seem to come from any of those, at least googling and browsing awhile back showed nothing. -- Andrew Leal (talk) 06:26, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I have no idea where I got that thing about her mom specifically being Cinderella's Fairy Godmother. I'm pretty sure I didn't make it up, but I can't find anything to back it up right now. I may have just made an incorrect assumption. As for the "allerednic" thing, I don't think I added it, but I've seen in sprinkled around the web. The only problem is, it looks like it's in a bunch of places that could have sourced it from the Wiki. Today Show Appearance

It was probably moved due to yesterday's terrorism threats, since they did a good amount of commentary on that. Sometimes morning shows just don't have enough time for everything. Scooter 13:56, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, the official Sesame Workship bio says she comes from a long line of fairy godmothers. But her design is more Tinker Bell-like, and why not? Basically, it seems fairy and fairy god-child are interchangeable in this case. And yeah, in the promo they're currently airing, she looks a lot less like a monster and more humanoid. Yeah, she's textured, but she's not as furry as the press images suggested (that's what I'd assumed at first as well). If you get a chance, PBS is running a "Meet Abby" promo before each current Sesame Street episode, in preparation for the new season, as Abby tries (and fails) to "poof" herself to the street. Well, it was a smaller image which I had to resize to even get to 200px, including frame, so it looks slightly pixellated. Without frame would be better, and while out of necessity I'll admit I've been using 200px images for many of the international actors (where absolutely no other source could be found), I feel less comfortable bending the limits for characters especially when better images will likely be available (the best solution, outside of replacement, is for Scott to place a whitespace frame so it fits between the performer/designer boxes). It is a trend recently, with The Winx Club, fairy-ized versions of Treasure Trolls in Trollz, and Disney launching a line of fairy toys to compete/supplement their Princesses line, and build up hype for the relatively unannounced CGI film starring Tinkerbelle.
