Who performed Alf?

Does anybody know who puppetear Alf? I think he is puppeteer by Steve Whitmire. Who provided work on Rizzo the Rat, Barkely, Foo-Foo, Nelson (Indian U Call), The D train guy, Whembly Fraggle, Sprocket, Captain Breakfast, JP (Miami Mice), Ernie (1990-present), Kermit the Frog (1990-present), and so on...
