Talk:123 Sesame Street

Edit
Is it true that the sitcom 227 used the Sesame Street set (albeit slightly redressed) for the exteriors of the 227 aparment building? In the wake of Alaina Reed's passing, I've seen several articles that state that 227 used the same exact set for their exterior (just slightly redressing the surrounding area).
Sesamestreet.org states:

- I think someone based that on memory, published it, and everyone repeated it without checking. It's pretty obvious from looking at videos on Hulu that it's not the same set. —Scott (talk) 19:40, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
- It's also impossible since 227 was taped in Hollywood (which by most accounts is the main reason she left Sesame, since after a few years it was too much to try to fly between coasts. All of her subsequent film and TV work was on the West Coast). I am surprised it showed up on Sesamestreet.org though, but they've often borrowed text from other sources (their Will Lee entry relies heavily on our article, which makes me quite proud). -- Andrew Leal (talk) 22:03, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
Attention
Edit
This is arguably the most important Sesame Street location (close with Hooper's Store). This page could really be expanded with more details, commentary, history, major events over the show's run, notable residents and especially a picture or two. -- Brad D. (talk) 14:08, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
- I know Danny has a bunch of photocopies of early concept sketces of 123 Sesame Street from the Public Television archives. I'd bet if gently reminded, he would dig tem out and post them. Is this reminder gentle enough? Shawn 03:30, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Grover?
Edit

Added by ToughpigsThis may be my fuzzy memory, but doesn't Grover live at 123 Sesame Street also? I seem to remember the camera zooming in to an upstairs window before a Grover sketch once or twice. -- Joe (talk) 14:47, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- I dunno... There's a thing in Christmas Eve on Sesame Street where the adults are looking for Big Bird, and somebody says, "I'm going to go over to Grover's to check." Kynan & I joked commented on that in one of the TP Christmas weeks. That would indicate that Grover lives somewhere else, not at 123.
- The book When Grover Moved to Sesame Street shows him moving into 123, although other books like Grover's Bad, Awful Day show him living in a little house. So there's at least some textual evidence that he has lived at 123, even if he's not currently living there now. -- Danny (talk) 19:27, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
