Ta-Ra-Ra Boom-De-Ay is a vaudeville and music hall song introduced in Boston, Massachusetts in Tuxedo in 1891. It has been sung and referenced by the Muppets on numerous occasions.
Sesame Street[]
- In a season 18 segment, Don Music tries to figure out the right song to play in Hooper's Store. One he tries out is "Ta-Ra-Ra Boom-De-Ay," but David and Don reject it.
- In Episode 2660, Telly Monster suggested playing the song on his tuba.
- Herry and his monster football team sing a chorus when they celebrate a win at Hooper's Store in Episode 2987.
- Elmo and Big Bird also sang this song on the Sesame Street album, Kids' Favorite Songs 2, which has been used on multiple releases afterward (see below).
Muppets Tonight[]
Polly Lobster and Clueless Morgan sang this song until Clueless Morgan gets hit in the head by a hammer in the Mr. Callahan sketch in episode 108.
