TOKYOPOP is the world's largest English-language publisher of manga. The Jim Henson Company teamed up with TOKYOPOP to release Return to Labyrinth and Legends of the Dark Crystal. Its Jr. Cine-Manga line has published Sesame Street titles. (Sesame Street comic books by Ape Entertainment will begin publishing in 2012.)
In 2011, the company announced the closing of its Los Angeles, CA-based North American publishing operations. Its film and television projects, as well as European publishing operations and global rights sales will continue from Tokypop's first original foreign branch in Hamburg, Germany.[1]
