A quartet of String Beans appear in an episode of Sesame Street. When Elmo imagines being in "Jack and the Beanstalk", he climbs a very large stalk. Along the way, he meets some talking string beans, who promote how healthy they are as a food. They also tell him the top of the beanstalk isn't too far away from them. Once Elmo passes them, one bean wonders if they should've told him about the giant at the top.
