Starship is an American rock band with roots dating back to the 1960's. Previous incarnations of the band were called Jefferson Airplane, and Jefferson Starship. Grace Slick sang vocals for all three versions of the band. Starship had three #1 singles in the 1980's: "We Built This City", "Sara", and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now".
The original recording of "We Built This City" can be heard in The Muppets, during a scene where the Muppets clean up The Muppet Theater, in order to get it ready for The Muppet Telethon.
