Star Townshend worked as a suit performer for three seasons of Dinosaurs, occasionally filling in as Charlene Sinclair during the third season. In addition to serving as a utility additional dinosaur performer from the second season onward, she performed Caroline Foxworth and Mindy in several episodes, Neighbor No. 3 ("Baby Talk"), Thighs of Thunder ("The Discovery"), and Sally ("Out of the Frying Pan"). Townshend later worked on Buddy, as one of several performers for the title character.

Townshend's other credits include a bit part as a clown in the Bill Murray film Larger Than Life (co-starring Tai the elephant). She later co-founded Yoga Oasis, where she serves as program coordinator and instructor.
