"Stand By Your Can" is an original Sesame Street song that was performed by Hammy Swinette. Hammy sings about the problems with litter, and where it should be put. She sings with a Muppet trash can beside her, eating up the yummy garbage that people (and pigs) put in it.
The song and singer are parodies of country artist Tammy Wynette and her hit, "Stand By Your Man."
