South Street Seaport is a historic area of New York City, at the East River, with some of the oldest architecture in downtown Manhattan.
Its 10th anniversary was celebrated with a Children's Day event. The event was hosted by Elmo (Kevin Clash) and Gordon (Roscoe Orman). Originally scheduled for June 25, 2012, the event was rescheduled to September 30, with only Orman appearing.
In 2004, costumed characters of Elmo, Bert and Ernie appeared.
