Sing-Along Earth Songs was released as a Sesame Songs Home Video on VHS by Random House in 1993.

The framing story follows Grover and some Anything Muppet kids โ€” Junior, Flo, Fauna, and John-Boy โ€” who go on a hike in the mountains. Grover assumes a role similar to his job as camp counselor at Camp Wannagohoma in teaching the kids about nature; in that, he will point something out and the kids will correct him. Throughout the story, Grover instructs on the dangers of littering, smog and water pollution and the importance of taking care of trees, water conservation and respecting an animal's habitat.

Cookie Monster is also seen in the state park where a number of forest animals urge him not to litter. One bear in this scene is the Baby Bear puppet, even performed by David Rudman, although not intended to be the same character. Likewise a later scene features what would become the Papa Bear puppet, referred to only as "bear."
