"Silent Night" is a traditional Christmas carol, originally written in German as "Stille Nacht". On the album "A Christmas Together", John Denver and the Muppet cast sing the song in both English and German. During a quiet interlude, Denver relates the story of how Josef Mohr, an Austrian priest, asked his organist, Franz Gruber, to set a poem he had written to music for voice and guitar, as the church organ was broken and they needed music for the Christmas service.
