Signor Baffi and his Flashing Knives of Death appeared in episode 516 of The Muppet Show. He has a little problem with his eyesight, and throws his knives whenever someone makes noise.
When Statler cheers Signor Baffi for throwing his knives at Fozzie Bear, a knife strikes at the balcony box. Both critics duck for any more weapons coming their way and Waldorf mutters to Statler, "Quiet."
According to the "Muppet Morsels" on The Muppet Show: Season One episode 121, he was named after the Italian restaurant "Signor Baffi's" where Jim Henson, Frank Oz and the writers discussed ideas for upcoming episodes.
Despite the fact that Disney owned the character, Jesse Blaze Snider wasn't allowed to use the character in Muppet Snow White.
