In honor of Sesame Street's 30th anniversary in 1998 and to promote the Sesame Street Unpaved book, a Sesame Street Unpaved tour visited college campuses, including the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University.

The events featured a video presentation of famous Sesame Street songs and sketches, and a panel discussion with representatives of the show's various departments. Panelists included Roscoe Orman and Kevin Clash with Elmo.
