Sesame Street Go (previously known as "Sesame Go") is an online service for streaming episodes of Sesame Street and Pinky Dinky Doo. It launched in Beta on March 7, 2014 as announced in Sesame Workshop's email newsletter.
The service is available from computers, tablets, and mobile devices, and ran on a paid subscription plan: $3.99/month or $29.99/year. Sesame Street episodes were divided into two sections: "Sesame Street" and "Sesame Street Classics." At launch, all the available episodes (from seasons 35 to 45) have been previously released on The iTunes Store.
The service was expanded in November 2014, becoming a downloadible application in addition to the website. Added content includes games, select song inserts from Sesame Street as well as individual segments of "Elmo's World," "Elmo the Musical," "Cookie's Crumby Pictures," "Super Grover 2.0," "Abby's Flying Fairy School" and "Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures." Episodes of The Furchester Hotel also became available.
Following the news of Sesame Workshop's five-year development deal with HBO, it was announced the app would no longer house new content and the amount of playable material would be trimmed down. On December 15, 2015, the site underwent a change in content, no longer accessible only through paid subscription.
