Sesame Street General Store

Sesame Street Central Store was a chain of stores around briefly in the mid-1990's specializing in Sesame Street (and occasional other Henson and CTW franchises) merchandise.

Many of the storefronts were modeled after the Hooper's Store set. Replicas of Oscar's trash can were also outside some stores. When one would bang on the top of the trash can, a silent but lifelike animatronic of Oscar the Grouch would come out of the can and briefly interact with people for a few seconds and go back into the can.

The stores were not successful and all were quietly closed by 1998.
