In 2005, following the premiere of Sesame Street (Japan), the Japanese toy company Takara produced a line of singing hand puppets. When the puppet's mouth was manipulated, the character would utter different English words or a song. The characters included Teena, Ernie, Elmo, Cookie Monster and Big Bird.

Each character utters "Hi" and their name ("I'm Teena," "I'm Elmo," etc.) In addition, each puppet was programmed with a public domain children's song.

Teena sings "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", Ernie came with "London Bridge", Elmo sings "If You're Happy and You Know It," Cookie Monster croons "Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes", and Big Bird comes with "Seven Step".
