Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff (1873–1943) was a Russian composer, pianist, and conductor. Influenced by Tchaikovsky and other Russian composers, the piano figures prominently in his original compositions.
- A poster for a Rachmaninoff concert adorns a wall of the Happiness Hotel in The Great Muppet Caper. The poster was for a December 1st concert at Paris' Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. The program included pieces by Chopin, Liszt, Mozart, and Rachmaninoff himself.
- In the trumpet gag to The Muppet Show episode 410, Gonzo says "What were you expecting, Rachmaninoff?"
- The composer's name was referenced with the worm band the Flying Rachmaninoffs on Sesame Street.
