Sand Alphabet is a stop-frame animated series of inserts appearing regularly on Sesame Street, one for each letter of the alphabet and with occasional variants. Eliot Noyes, Jr. created the films by manipulating grains of sand against a front or backlighted glass animation stand. Bluegrass music accompanied the letters (featured in both capital and lowercase, read by a male voice and a child's voice respectively) and occasional minimal sand figures or props were featured.
The series began airing as early as Season 6 and continued to be shown as late as Season 32.
