Sam is Herry Monster's pet cat in The Sesame Street Pet Show. He wins the award for "Cleanest Pet."

Herry has a kitten in other books as well. Barkley attempts to make friends with his cat in A Bird's Best Friend. There is no direct reference that this is Sam however, as the cat is unnamed and orange, verses the white Sam in The Sesame Street Pet Show.

Sam, or the orange version of Sam, was featured on a set of stickers from Gibson Greetings.
