The Safari Animal Tracker is a parody of Steve Irwin, host of The Crocodile Hunter, who appears in It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie.

The Animal Tracker chases Fozzie, whom he mistakes for a wild animal. In his pursuit of Fozzie, he accidentally tranquilizes Joe Snow.

Fozzie escapes from the Animal Tracker by running through a Christmas tree painting machine, but is mistaken for the Grinch by a group of Whos and, in the ensuing confusion, accidentally exchanges his bag of money with a sidewalk corner Santa's bag of used clothes. It is therefore because of the Animal Tracker that the Muppets are late in their final loan payment on the Muppet Theater to Miss Bitterman.
