Russell Hoban

Russell Hoban (b. 1925) is the author of Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas and many other children's books, including the Frances books, which are being adapted for television by the Jim Henson Company. His late wife Lillian Hoban often collaborated with him as an illustrator in the 1960s and 1970s. Prior to writing children's books, he worked as an illustrator, creating several magazine covers, and as an advertising copywriter. Hoban also writes adult books in the science fiction and fantasy genres. He currently resides in London, the setting for nearly all of his novels.
