Rosie O'Donnell (b. 1962) is a comedian, actress and talk show host. She appeared in supporting roles in a number of films in the early 90's, including A League of Their Own with Geena Davis in 1992, Sleepless in Seattle (1993), and The Flinstones (1994). She achieved national fame as the host of The Rosie O'Donnell Show, a popular daytime talk show that aired from 1996 to 2002, as well as for a stint co-hosting on The View with Barbara Walters. She has also appeared on Broadway in Grease, Fiddler on the Roof, and the Dr. Seuss inspired Seussical.

In 1996, O'Donnell helped to promote the craze of Tickle Me Elmo and continued to do so on The View with T.M.X. Elmo in 2006.

Muppet/Henson Credits

In a segment taped for Sesame Street, O'Donnell raps the alphabet with Elmo.

In 1994, she starred as Betty Rubble in The Flintstones, which featured puppets by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. She later voiced a Creature Shop octopus in the sequel, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas.

She also appeared in the 1994 special Sesame Street's All-Star 25th Birthday: Stars and Street Forever!, as the Good Hope Fairy.

Elmo was a favorite guest on The Rosie O'Donnell Show, appearing many times over the years. Miss Piggy appeared during Rosie's first week on the air in 1996, and Oscar the Grouch also made an appearance. Further, one entire special episode of The Rosie O'Donnell Show was dedicated to and took place on a replica set of Sesame Street, with a whole bunch of characters like Prairie Dawn, and celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg appearing all throughout the show.

In 1998, she appeared in the Elmopalooza TV special, performing a remake of "Nearly Missed" with Elmo. A version of this duet appears on the Elmopalooza soundtrack.

Elmo appears on her 1999 Christmas album, Rosie Christmas, singing Do You Hear What I Hear.

Abby Cadabby met Rosie's adopted child Vivi for a segment of The View.

On November 23, the squirrels Skippy, Junior, Jiffy and Nutella from the stage show version of Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas appeared onstage with O'Donnell for Rosie's Broadway Extravaganza show in New York City. Later in the show, Justin Bohon (Emmet) and Kathy Fitzgerald (Ma) appeared to sing "When the River Meets the Sea".
