Ron Marshall (1932โ€“2000) was a New York-based voice actor and singer, heard periodically on Sesame Street. He sang the newer versions of "Dressed Up" and "Beautiful Baby," a section of "Live at the Lunar Lounge," "S, You're the Best" and its variations, and voiced a Muppet penguin in "Doing the Penguin," as credited in album releases. His voice is most prominent in the "Elmo's World" segments from seasons 30 through 32, serving as the TV announcer and supplying additional voices in the animated portions. Jerry Nelson took over the announcer role afterwards.

Marshall was a busy singer and character voice actor, most often in commercials and children's entertainment, beginning in the 1960s (during which time he also appeared on assorted live variety shows). He had solos as featured characters in the Rankin/Bass specials The Year Without a Santa Claus and The Easter Bunny Is Comin' to Town and was heard regularly on children's albums for MGM (such as a Smokey the Bear album), Pickwick (including playing Charlie Brown in You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown), and others.

When the Blondie movies entered TV syndication in 1966, Marshall co-sang the theme (as Dagwood). He spoofed his own commercial work in the 1974 film The Groove Tube (announcing a violent spot for Butz Beer). Marshall continued in children's and educational projects, including Random House VHS titles and as a frequent narrator for Scholastic cassettes into the nineties (including the Franklin stories).
