Roller skates are recreational footwear with wheels attached for rolling. They were first patented in Belgium in 1760.

Despite primarily being seen only above the waist, Muppets have appeared roller skating on occasion.

• A penguin in Episode 3995 of Sesame Street.
• Baby Bear in Episode 3966 of Sesame Street.
• Baby Fozzie in the Muppet Babies episode "Journey to the Center of the Nursery".
• Big Bird is probably the most commonly-known Muppet to roller skate. He has done so in many productions, such as the song "Wheels on My Feet" and in episodes such as Episode 3851 and Episode 4206.
• Bruno the Trashman in Here Come the Puppets!
• Fozzie Bear and The Swedish Chef in episode 215 of The Muppet Show.
• Miss Piggy in The Muppets Take Manhattan.
• Snuffy in Big Bird Gets Lost.
• Telly in the very beginning of The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.
• Alice, Bert, Ernie, Bruno the Trashman, Buster the Horse, Forgetful Jones, Grover, The Two-Headed Monster in Big Bird's Birthday or Let Me Eat Cake.
