Robots have often been featured in various Muppet productions over the years, as characters or as loudly whirring props. Robots, mechanical devices which can move and operate on their own, have a similar mystique to that of the puppet. In the Muppet universe, however, like other appliances, robots are generally distinguished by their ineptness and tendency to fall apart or explode.
