René Lafleur (1922-2007) was a French musician, singer, and actor who played Domine on 1, Rue Sésame, the French co-production of Sesame Street. He also performed on three 1, Rue Sésame albums, and as on the show itself, played the upright cello.
Lafleur performed in circuses, opera, and cabaret. He released two EPs in 1958, featuring his vocals and musicianship, billed only by his last name. He acted periodically in French TV and movies, including Le diable dans la boîte (with Jean Rochefort, as a flute player) and the Jean-Paul Belmondo film Le professionnel. TV appearances included Commissaire Moulin, Les Cinq Dernières Minutes, and Les enquêtes du commissaire Maigret.
