Ray Colcord composed the episodic music for Dinosaurs, sharing duties the first season with theme song composer Bruce Broughton and then solo for the remainder of the run, including the various Dinosaur TV theme songs and commercial jingles. He also wrote songs for the show, including "I'm the Baby (Gotta Love Me)" and many of the songs on the 1992 album Big Songs, which he also produced, arranged, and performed keyboards for.
Colcord composed the theme songs for the sitcoms 227 (with Alaina Reed), The Torkelsons, and Boy Meets World. He also scored the second season Simpsons episode "Dead Putting Society," various Before They Were Stars installments, and other TV specials. In records, he played keyboards with Don McLean on American Pie and Aerosmith's Get Your Wings, as well as writing the music to Julie Brown's "The Homecoming Queen's Got a Gun" and "Earth Girls Are Easy."
