For the gourd, see Pumpkins

The Pumpkin Anything Muppet is an orange rod puppet with a long, oval-shaped head, used on Sesame Street. Though sometimes referred to as "Tall Orange" in fan communities, the official name, according to a 1979 character style guide, is Pumpkin. The pattern, which debuted with the first season of Sesame Street, was designed by Jim Henson and originally built by Don Sahlin and Caroly Wilcox.[1]

A live handed variation of the puppet was first used in Season 35. There's also a pumpkin-orange live hand puppet with a rounded head, similar to the large Lavender live hand puppet, but visually distinct from the typical Pumpkin Anything. In season 40, a variation of the puppet was made, with a wider mouth and modified head.

Examples of the Sesame Street characters developed from the Pumpkin Anything Muppet include the following:

Pumpkin Live Hand

A live hand variant also exists, but has been used less frequently.
