"Planets, Moon and Stars" is a song that was written for Sesame Street.
In one segment, Jerry Nelson provides vocals for an animated film. Although he is not performing a character, he does not use his own singing voice, but one which more resembles that of a little boy, similar to his voice for Robin the Frog.
Other versions include a solo by Elmo as he sings to his doll David from his bedroom and a remake for Happy Healthy Monsters with Grover, Zoe, Elmo and The Kids.
