Piratenkapitän Wolfdietrich Säbelmeier appeared in a 2004 episode of Sesamstrasse, the German co-production of Sesame Street.

The pirate captain had one half of a treasure map, and had to team up with Rumpel, who had the other part of the map.

The wolf puppet has appeared in other roles as well, including postman Wolfram Wolf.
