Pioneers of Thirteen is a four-part documentary series that highlights the history and stories of the first fifty years of WNET, the PBS affiliate in New York City.

The first episode, "The '60s: Experimental Days", which aired on WNET on September 17, 2012, briefly focused on the creation and development of Sesame Street. Featured interviewees included Joan Ganz Cooney (a former producer for WNET) and Sesame guest star James Earl Jones. Clips were included from Episode 0001, "Fat Cat", and other sketches.
