When introducing him, Sonny erroneously addressed him as Gordon, rather than Pierre, but Pierre corrected him. Sonny then proceeded to tell Pierre a sad story regarding what would have happened if he (Pierre) was having breakfast at his favorite bistro and ordered cereal, orange juice, and a croissant, only to learn that they were out of croissants. The thought of this gets Pierre crying up a storm, remarking that it would be "uncivilized". Sonny has a tendency not to understand Pierre unless he speaks English.
