Peter O'Toole (1932–2013) was an acclaimed Irish-born stage and film actor, perhaps best known for starring as Lawrence of Arabia, for which he received the first of eight Academy Award nominations for Best Actor. O'Toole played the Emperor of Lilliput in the Jim Henson Productions TV movie Gulliver's Travels.
Other credits include voicing Sherlock Holmes in a number of animated specials, voicing Anton Ego in Pixar's Ratatouille, appearing in Supergirl, Man of La Mancha, and the 2005 remake of Lassie. On Broadway, he played Professor Higgins in the 1987 revival of Pygmalion.
- O'Toole's role as T.E. Lawrence in Lawrence of Arabia was spoofed by Kermit the Frog in the 1998 calendar Muppet Movie Parodies: Plump Fiction.
- Link Hogthrob mistook Peter Sellers for Peter O'Toole on The Muppet Show episode 219. A similar joke occurred in the 1967 James Bond spoof Casino Royale with O'Toole mistaking Sellers for himself.
