Paul Revere (ca. 1735-1818) was a silversmith and dentist who is best remembered, however, as a patriot during the American Revolution. His "midnight ride," warning of the approaching British, was commemorated decades later by the poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (altering certain details and obscuring the fact that three others also delivered the same warning).
- Marty Feldman shouts the "The British are coming," a phrase associated with Revere (though it has not been proven as an accurate quote) as he enters the Muppet Theatre in episode 518 of The Muppet Show.
- Rizzo the Rat appeared as "Rizzo Revere", who proclaimed, "The Cats are coming!" in the coloring book Great Muppets in American History.
- Kermit the Frog plays Paul Revere in The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History, while Miss Piggy attempts to play Paula Revere. Kermit's horse is a stick horse that speaks.
