Parque Plaza Sesamo

Parque Plaza Sesamo is the Mexican counter-part to Sesame Place, based on Plaza Sésamo. Located in Monterrey, the theme park had its grand opening on October 12, 1995, and operates year round. In addition to roller coasters and other rides, the park features walk-around versions of both the US Muppets and their Plaza Sesamo compatriots.
The park occassionally hosts celebrity events, with soccer stars, mayoral candidates, and other notables making appearances.
Walk Around Characters
The park is home to over 15 characters from Sesame Street and 3 characters from Plaza Sesamo, that appear in shows and parades. Many also appear for photo opportunities, special events and wander the park and greet guests.
Characters featured in the park include:
- Abelardo, Lola, Pancho, Bert, Ernie,Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Count Von Count, Elmo, Grover, Oscar the Grouch, Prairie Dawn,Super Grover and Zoe.
