Papa Bear is one of the Three Bears, with Mama Bear and Baby Bear. A fourth member of the family was added with the birth of his new daughter, Curly Bear. Papa Bear works at the honey factory. ^[1]

Papa Bear first appeared in Season 22.

In episode 3906, Papa Bear invented a perpetual porridge machine.

He is an old friend of Boston Pops conductor Keith Lockhart.

According to Elmo's World: Happy Holidays, Papa Bear and his family are Jewish.

Grandmama Bear would be Papa Bear's mother and his father would have died of natural causes soon after he grew up and before he married Mama Bear.

And he would have a younger brother and sister who would be twins. They will later get married together in a Jewish wedding by the Bears' rabbi Solomon Bearinski, as known, the law that forbids siblings and cousins does not exist for bears and monsters in the world of Sesame Street.
